Chandler 6809 CPU Single Board Computer
The 6809 CPU single board computer was sold by Chandler Microsystems.
The Chandler 6809 CPU featured:
- 6809 microprocessor
- up to 256KB DRAM, used an EPROM to define 128 different memory maps of 4KB blocks
- video generator for 24 lines of 84 characters, 7x12 character font (in 9x16 cell), character generator in EPROM
- keyboard interface for unencoded switch matrix, type-ahead buffer
- parallel printer port
- serial port
- general purpose 8-bit I/O
- parallel expansion port
- floppy disk controller for two 5¼" drives, used an MC6852/SSDA and 1/2 6522/VIA, non-standard disk format
- FLEX operating system supported
- cost U$735 for an assembled board with 192K RAM
The only information on this board I can find is from an
advertisement
in the October 1982 issue of '68' Micro Journal magazine, and from my notes in the
November 1982 issue of our computer club's newsletter. The latter indicated I had
received an almost full sized photo of the board with all chips and connectors
labelled, but I can't find it now.
"FLEX" was a trademark of Technical System Consultants (TSC).
